D4: An Array Programming Language

Most of these pages have been written up on a 386 SX machine with 640Kb of memory. When a link is changed on the site, systematic updates may be automatically made to all the htm files by means of a 'sed' like editor built into D4, a DOS program. D4 is a dialect of APL which has been used in health care applications. APL itself was originally invented by K. Iverson for economic modelling.

The program is available free from the ftp section of this site. Source code is included. The must recent version is the 16-bit DOS version, but there is also an older version which compiles on Sun OS. Best is the LINUX version.
